The Airdrie Techmation Thunder came oh so close to getting all the points they could out of this weekend.

Only an overtime goal Friday (November 19) night by the Sylvan Lake Wranglers prevented the Thunder from securing all four points that were up for grabs this weekend.  That overtime loss to the Wranglers and a win over the Rocky Rams last night in a high-scoring game gave Airdrie three of a possible four points for the weekend.

Jacob Cathcart gave Airdrie a 1 - 0 lead Friday night before the Wranglers came back with a pair of goals to take a 2 - 1 lead 12:26 into the third period.  Joey Haden connected for the equalizer less than two minutes later to send the game to an overtime session where Sylvan Lake's Payton Wright connected for his second goal of the game just over a minute into the frame to give the Wranglers the win.

The goals came fast and furious last night in the game with the Rams.  Airdrie held period leads of 3 - 2 after 20 minutes and 5 - 4 through two periods before the flood gates opened in the third.

Rocky scored twice in the first half-minute of the third to take a 6 - 5 lead before the Thunder's Jeremy Jobin evened things up before the period was a minute old.  Airdrie scored three more goals prior to the ten-minute mark of the period and cruised to a 9 - 6 win.

Luke Jensen lit the lamp twice for Airdrie with singles coming from Jobin, Joey Haden, Dane Bennett-Nimijean, Luke Doyle, Matthew McDonald, Trey Stovin and Kolby James.

The Thunder remain in fifth place in the Heritage Junior Hockey League North Division with an 8-7-1 record and 17 points.  They trail the Mountain View Colts by five points but hold three games in hand over the Didsbury team.

Airdrie's next action is Friday, November 26th when they entertain the North Division's third-place team the Red Deer Vipers.  The puck drops at 8:00 pm at the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
