Three Mountain View County residents have been charged after Olds RCMP received information from the public that a rural property located within Mountain View County was being used as a base of operations to sell drugs and house stolen property and firearms.

The information was received by Mounties in mid-March and after an investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the residence.

Last week, on April 3, Emergency Response Teams (North and South), including Olds RCMP, executed the search warrant.

Seized items included seven firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition, 200 grams of suspected cocaine, two gram of suspected amphetamine, 250 Gabapentin pills, as well as eight cartons of contraband cigarettes, a stolen Dodge Ram 2500, and two stolen utility trailers

47-year-old Michael Goodine was charged with two counts of Careless use of a firearm, three counts of possessing a firearm without a licence, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as two counts of Possession of a controlled substance for trafficking, two counts of Possession of stolen property over $5000, three counts of Possession of a weapon while prohibited, and Possession of contraband tobacco for the purpose of selling.

52-year-old Kevin Leischner was charged with two counts of Possession of stolen property over $5000, Possession of contraband tobacco for the purpose of selling, Careless use of firearm, and Possessing a firearm without a licence.

After Judicial Interim Release Hearings, Goodine and Leischner were remanded into custody. Goodine appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury last Friday, while Lischner will appear in court today in Okotoks.

42-year-old Donna Faulkner was also charged with two counts of  Possession of stolen property over $5000, Careless use of a firearm, Possession of contraband tobacco for the purpose of selling, as well as Possessing a firearm without a licence

Faulkner was released to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on April 29.
