It was announced earlier today that Calgary Flames' forward Tyler Toffoli will be representing Team Canada as Captain at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship. However, Toffoli isn't the only Flames player to be donning a few more letters on his jersey.

His teammates,  MacKenzie Weegar and Milan Lucic will be donning A's on their jerseys as alternate captains. The other alternate captains include Scott Laughton (Philadelphia Flyers) and Lawson Crouse (Arizona Coyotes).

Toffoli previously represented Canada in the 2015 IIHF World Championship. But for Weegar and Lucic, it will be their first time playing for Hockey Canada.

The tournament will begin on May 12 and run till May 28. It will be co-hosted by Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia. Team Canada's first game in the preliminary round will be against Latvia on May 12.
