Two Airdrie facilities will be cooling stations for residents in need during the current heatwave.

Today, the City of Airdrie announced that the Airdrie Public Library and Genesis Place were opened as cooling stations  today and will be again open for residents to utilize tomorrow during regular hours.

"Staying hydrated, limiting your exposure to the heat, and being able to recognize the signs of heat illness' can help reduce the risks of extreme heat conditions," stated the city.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting the high for tomorrow to reach the mid to high 30s.

Airdrie is currently under a heat warning due to the current conditions of extreme temperatures.
