Three doctors from the Airdrie Community Physician's Association (ACPA) will make a presentation to City Council at their meeting today (February 4).

Dr. Fozia Alvi, Dr. Avneet Brar, and Dr. Charles Wang will present council with information about the Association, their role and their vision for health care in Airdrie.

Some of the issues to be discussed by the ACPA include support for policy and resource decision-making around future health care delivery, local service delivery/gaps, opportunities for health care and community innovation, and opportunities to advocate on behalf of the community through connection with Primary Care Networks, Alberta Health Services, the Alberta Medical Association and Alberta Health.

The presentation is scheduled for 5:30 pm during the council meeting which gets underway in City Hall starting at 3:30 pm.

Also on today's agenda, council will be asked to give three readings to the new Waterworks Bylaw.  They'll also receive a request that the week of February 9th - 15th be proclaimed Kindness Week in Airdrie.  The week is meant to encourage local businesses, schools, service clubs and residents to share kindness throughout the year in Airdrie.
