It won't be long now until Airdrie's Major Bantam Hockey team begins their new season.

Team Manager for the Airdrie Xtreme Dean McCaffrey says the preparations for the 2017-2018 season have gone well.

"We have pretty high expectattions for them (players). The camp was very high paced, high skill level, we saw some great games and some great kids out there."

Dave Millard will be leading the Xtreme as head coach for the fourth straight year, and it looks like this year's team will be highly competitive.

"We have 7 returning kids from last year," says McCaffrey, "We kind of have 9 kids that played Triple-A Hockey last year."

The regular season starts with back to back home games on September 16th and 17th at Ron Ebessen Arena, where they take on the Flames and Tigers respectively.
