The Airdrie Xtreme were back in action Sunday in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) after a week off from league play.

On the road, the Xtreme laced up against the defending AMBHL Champion Rocky Mountain Raiders.

Despite a quick goal from Jared Miller in the opening minutes of the game, the Xtreme would fall behind as the Raiders would net four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead entering the third period.

Ben Nemish would score for Airdrie, trying to bring back some life but a third period goal from the Raiders would eventually seal the 5-2 victory.

The Xtreme have had their fair share of struggles this season at 2-12-2 but currently hold a playoff spot ahead of the SEAC Tigers who are 1-13-2 on the year.

Airdrie will battle the Tigers this weekend to try and maintain their playoff position prior to meeting with the Lloydminster Foremost Heat at Ron Ebbesen Arena on Saturday.

That game gets underway at 6:30 pm.
