A fundraiser for Dawn Warden held in Airdrie over the weekend is being hailed a success.

Last month, Warden suffered serious injuries after she was attacked in her Willowbrook Road apartment.

Following the incident, Paige Cairns teamed up with Jori Enberg at Bambino's Neighbourhood Pub to put together a fundraiser for Warden.

'Music Heals' took place on Sunday with live music, live and silent auctions, and draws.

A total of $4,407 was raised.

"I’m so proud and so grateful for all the amazing donations that helped us way surpass our goal," says Enberg.

Warden continues to recover from injuries she sustained in the assault, but she was able to make an appearance at the event on Sunday to meet with her supporters.

Another fundraiser is planned for August 11 at Tap & Vine called the Dawn Warden Support for Survivors Ride. Silent auction items and cash donations are being accepted at the pub.

There is also a GoFundMe page for Warden that is just shy of the $16,000 as of July 16.
