In only his second start of the season, Calgary Roughnecks rookie goaltender Frankie Scigliano has picked up a weekly distinction.

Thanks to his 38 save 9-6 win against the Edmonton Rush, Scigliano has been named the National Lacrosse League's Defensive Player of the Week. The goaltender managed to stop 21 of 23 shots in the first half to keep the game as tight as it was.

Scigliano stands quite large, even before putting on his goalie gear. He stands at a staggering 6 foot 4 inches tall, and weighs 290 pounds. He got his first NLL start the week before in Rochester against the Knighthawks.

The win clinched the West Division for the Riggers, and also clinched another bout against the Rush at the Dome May 5th for the West Devision's Semi-Finals. Calgary will also have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
