It was a tough way to start the season in the Alberta Football League for the Airdrie Irish.

The Irish journeyed to Fort McMurray last night (May 27) for a game against the defending league and Canadian champion Monarchs, and, in the end, it was no contest.

The Monarchs came out with all cylinders firing and cruised to an 89 - 0 victory.

The Irish will regroup for their next game on Saturday, June 3rd when they take on the Stars in St. Albert at 6:00 pm.
