Airdrie's Matt Blanford picked up the final spot for the Men's Provincial Curling Playdowns as the Southern's wrapped up Monday in Okotoks.

He beat Airdrie's Rhett Friesz 7-5 in the "C" Event final to punch his ticket to Provincials.

It's the second time for Blanford who went to Provincials in Camrose in 2012 with Turner Valley's Mike Libbus rink.

He joins Brock Virtue from Calgary and Brent Bawel from Airdrie in Wainwright February 4th to the 8th.
