A week ago, they broke ground. Now, they're excited to see the progress that will come with the construction of Phase Three.

Jack Lumley, Chair of the Airdrie Regional Recreation Enhancement Society, says that's they're starting to see the finish line, especially with ground breaking out of the way as well.

"ARRES is doing really well," according to chair Jack Lumley. "We're well into the program of getting sponsorship, and providing that legacy for people in the community to add their heart and soul into the project."

Up until now, the expansion to Genesis Place has been somewhat of a thought, a theory, or a dream. But with plans to get started on construction after this week's Home and Lifestyle Show, people will have a better understanding of the magnitude the project has been.

"We're going to be able to see every day the progress being made," said Lumley of the construction.

Thanks to the ARRES Winter Challenge hockey game in March, adding Boston Pizza, A&W, and Shane Homes as sponsors, and the upcoming 2nd Annual golf tournament, the group is that much closer to their financial goal.

"We're off to a rousing start, we really have kicked it off quite well."

The public can continue to help efforts in fundraising for the building of Phase Three at Genesis Place at the newly revamped ARRES website.
