The U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme of the Alberta Elite Hockey League are on a roll to start their season.

Coming off a provincial championship last season, the goal was to carry that momentum into this season and so far, they have done just that.

Currently, they have seven wins, one loss, and one overtime loss with 37 scored and 22 allowed.

Head Coach of the Xtreme, Alec Miller, is proud of how the team has performed so far.

"We've started extremely strong,  going 7-1-1. We went up against St. Albert last weekend, one of the top teams in the league so far and came out with a 6-5 victory."

Miller is energetic about the by-in he has seen from the players so early into the season. When talking about what he hopes to see for the rest of the season, it's all about consistency.

"These last couple of weeks have been a grind. We played 13 games in 18 days with tournaments and league play. Being able to find that consistency through the ups and the downs is huge."

According to Miller, they recognize the season will be long and full of waves so they will have to be prepared for it.

On Friday (November 24), the Xtreme will be playing host to the Knights of Columbus (KC) Squires, they will face off at the Ron Ebbesen Arena at 5:30 p.m.

"It'll be great to be back at home. They're a good team from up north and we hope to keep our streak going."

Sunday, the Xtreme will travel to Red Deer to take on their rivals, the Rebels.

"I think that's gonna be a really tough game for us. But I know if the boys are willing to put in 60 minutes of work, we'll be just fine."
