The Senior C Airdrie Mohawks of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League are looking to hoist another provincial title by the end of this weekend.

The Mohawks are looking to win their sixth straight provincial title in a row. They have just won their seventh consecutive south division championship title.

In the provincial final, the Mohawks will be taking on the Edmonton Warriors, who they have beaten in the past three provincial championships.

Head Coach Gareth Barley is proud of how the team finished out the regular season by beating their soon-to-be first-round playoff matchup against the Calgary Bears.

"Last game of the year, if we win we take over first place, if they won or tied they would get first. We won that final game and took over first place by one point to keep the streak alive of heading into the playoffs as the first-place team."

The Mohawks would face the Bears in the south division final but would win the best of three series in two games, winning game one 12-4 and winning game two 7-3.

"We just have to play a complete game. The first round pushed us to two games, the second game being a bit of a battle. We just got to come out and play the exact same way."

When asked about playing the Warriors in the final, Barley mentioned they know each other very well.

"They are no strangers to us, we know what they bring, they know what we can bring. It will be a good couple of games."

While they are still deciding exactly where the games will be played, the three-game series final will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
