The Lethbridge Hurricanes, led by Cochrane's Tyler Wong, have advanced to the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference final after a thrilling overtime win last night (April 18).

Wong scored a pair of goals, including the winner 3:02 into the extra frame, as the Hurricanes edged the Medicine Hat Tigers 5 - 4 to take the series in seven games.

The Hurricanes now move on to face the Regina Pats starting Friday night in Regina.

Wong's two goals and an assist in the game moves him into a tie for the league playoff scoring lead with Reid Gardiner of the Kelowna Rockets, each with 22 points.

The Rockets, with another Cochranite Dillon Dube in their lineup, have made it to the Western Conference final and take on the Seattle Thunderbirds.  That series also begins Friday with the opening game to be played in Seattle.
