The two Alberta teams in the NHL played yesterday and received losses from division rivals.

The Edmonton Oilers welcomed the San Jose Sharks in their home Rogers Place and were on the losing side of a 7-4 score. The Sharks take the three points and placed themselves tied for first with the Calgary Flames. At least, they were tied until Calgary played later that night.

The Flames welcomed one old rival and another old friend following the game in the Saddledome last night. Dillon Dube of Cochrane returned to the Flames lineup for an important game against the Vancouver Canucks. The game was close, with Vancouver scoring early. Calgary scored twice to take the lead, but Vancouver quickly tied it up. Dube's lin produced well, but couldn't clinch the win as the Flames fell in overtime 3-2.

The win put Calgary one point ahead of the San Jose Sharks in the Pacific Division. The Sharks will travel to Calgary tomorrow for a game to decide first place in the division. Puck drop is at 7.

The Oilers will also play again tomorrow, travelling to Winnipeg to play the Jets. The game gets underway at 7.
