The Airdrie Thunder currently sit in a very unenviable position.

The Thunder were trampled by the Mountainview Colts Wednesday night in an 11-5 loss.

It puts Airdrie in a do-or-die position for game five with the Colts up three games to one, another loss for the Thunder means the reigning Heritage Junior Hockey League champions will be out of the playoffs.

Airdrie will need to pull together its offense and defense if they hope to keep their crown for another year because they will have to win three straight games in order to advance.

It’s not an impossible feat, the Thunder came into the playoffs in the number one spot in the HJHL’s northern division and won three of four games against the Colts in the regular season.

Game five will take place Friday at the Ron Ebbesen Arena, and the Thunder are hoping it won't be their last. Puck drop is 8:00 P.M.
