The season is up and running for the Airdrie Female Elite AA Lightning after back to back games last weekend.

In the first game on Friday (October 19th), the Lightning played hard but fell just short in a 1-0 loss to the Red Deer Sutter Fund Chiefs. Jocelynn Pearce made 25 saves in net that game.

The Lightning would rebound on Saturday as Pearce made 24 saves to shutout the Edmonton Pandas 2-0. Sydney Chrusch and Sarah Nusl scored for Airdrie.

The Lightning are back in action this weekend as they play their home opener on Friday night (October 26th) before travelling to play the Rocky Mountain Raiders on Saturday.
