Team Alberta, with two former members of the Airdrie Xtreme in their lineup, suffered a heartbreaking loss yesterday (February 16) in their first game of the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Saskatchewan scored just over two minutes into overtime to pull out a 4 - 3 victory over Alberta.  Keagan Slaney from Airdrie and Craig Armstrong who's listed from Rocky View County were both in the Alberta starting lineup but didn't factor into the scoring.

Slaney and Armstrong were a part of an Xtreme team that won the Alberta Bantam Championship last year and finished as runners-up at the Western Canadian Championships.

Team Alberta will be back at it this afternoon when they face Manitoba.  The game gets underway at 4:00 pm at the Centrium Arena in Red Deer.
