Dandy Auto Marine RV, on East Lake Blvd in Airdrie, got an unexpected customer on the morning of Thursday, June 14. He wasn't looking to get his vehicle, boat or RV repaired. A young bull moose made its way into the City and was quarantined by staff in their fenced backlot.

Tim Biglin, an officer with Alberta Fish & Wildlife arrived on the scene shortly after police to control the situation. He said the young bull moose, weighing roughly 400-450 pounds, can be typically seen coming into cities and towns this time of year because, after being bred in the fall, a moose's mother is getting ready to calve again and tends to dismiss her yearlings to fend for themselves.

After being tranquilized, a young bull moose lays in a fenced lot behind Dandy Auto Marine RV.

Biglin says a highway is where officials will usually see the most trouble caused by a moose roaming away from its natural habitat.

Although they're found mostly in the western part of the Province, Biglin says Fish & Wildlife personnel are starting to see more moose in the eastern part of Alberta recently.

The amount of drug used to subdue an animal can vary, according to Biglin.

Watch as officials load the tranquilized animal onto a carrier.

...and into a waiting ride back to the wild.

Officials transported the moose safely back to the forest area west of Bragg Creek to be released.
