The Airdrie Xtreme bowed out of the John Reid Memorial Tournament yesterday (January 21) with a tough loss to Yale Academy.

Tristan Zandee scored the only goal for the Xtreme as they watched their tournament end with a 5-1 defeat.

Tegan Skehar was named Player of The Game for the Xtreme while Ethan Tinevez received the Heart and Hustle honour.

The Xtreme finished the tournament with 2 wins, 2 losses and a tie. That tie came at the hands of the Northern Alberta Xtreme who eventually won the tournament with a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.

Despite ending the tournament without a medal, one member of the Xtreme was rewarded for his outstanding play as forward Craig Armstrong was selected as a tournament all-star.

The Xtreme return to league action on Saturday (January 27) when they welcome the Lethbridge Golden Hawks to the Ron Ebbesen Arena.
