Just one day after the Airdrie Xtreme named their new head man, they've also picked someone to help him out.

Marshall Burr has been added to the coaching ranks of the Xtreme as an Assistant to new Head Coach Reid Hnatowich.

You might have to look twice to spot Burr who is not a lot older than the players he'll be working with.  Burr is a former member of the Xtreme, playing with the team from 2010 to 2012.  He was drafted in 2012 in the WHL Bantam Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders in the eighth round.

Burr was forced to quit playing competitive hockey because of a number of shoulder surgeries and a severe heart infection so he turned his focus to coaching and fell in love with it when he was a defensive coach in the 2015 - 2016 season with the Airdrie "AA" Bantams.

Burr is excited for the chance to give back to the Xtreme, the club he said helped develop him both as an elite hockey player and as an individual.
