It was a successful weekend for one Airdrie woman and her fundraiser to support one of her closest friends.

Airdrie resident Donna Chapman helped organize the fundraiser known as "Service Dog For Miss P" in the hopes of raising enough funds to purchase a support dog for her friend battling complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPSTD).

A weekend fundraiser was originally scheduled to be held last month but was postponed due to COVID-19 regulations.

The yard sale and bake sale finally went ahead on Saturday and Chapman said they were able to raise $1,860 for the cause.

Chapman is still looking at other ways to help raise funds and to know more you can visit the fundraiser's official Facebook page.
