This Sunday, September 10 a barbeque will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to help fundraise money for Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. (Protecting Our Women with Emergency Resources).

The barbeque will be held by the Against All Abuse (AAA) Motorcycle Club. The event will be held in the Airdrie Superstore parking lot, according to Crystal Boys, President of Airdrie P.O.W.E.R.

"They are an amazing group of people who have been helping P.O.W.E.R since its inception. They've helped us build, they've helped us move. If we need bodies at an event, they're there."

Boys also mentioned this barbeque is an annual event they put on to help fundraise for Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. The event will see plenty of activities and guests in attendance, including Airdrie's own Miss Calgary, Emily Marston and "That Don Cherry Guy".

"You can get a hot dog, some snacks, hang out and see what we're about because we desperately need funds at this point."

Boys also mentioned there will be plenty of motorbikes around for everybody to come look at.

"If you're just driving by, don't be intimidated by all the bikers, come say hi! They're the friendliest people you'll meet and they really give back to the Airdrie community a lot."

Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide women in Airdrie and District with the means to leave an abusive environment through emergency resources, education and empowerment, thus creating a safe and sustainable community.
