Local Airdrie band Flaysher has recently achieved nominations for CMA Awards, victories in competitions and a new, almost complete EP.

They will soon be performing at Country Thunder's mainstage and at a few more significant events, so it's going to be a big year for these guys. Brad and Ryan, the brother duo in the band joined Claire Spencer's morning show to chat with her about an event they are hoping Airdronins will come out and support.

They want to give back to their community who's been behind them all the way and help a local group whose cause is close to their heart, The Thumbs Up Foundation and their fight for suicide prevention.

The upcoming fundraiser "One More Night" is happening on January 28th at the King Eddy in Calgary, this is its second year and they want to make it a successful one said Brad,

"Brian and I began putting this together only months after my best friend of 13 years took his own life in 2021. Dakota lived right here in Airdrie and in Alberta for most of his life and attended Bert Church High School with us. Made a huge impact while he was here and so that's one of the reasons as well as our cousin Tyler, he took his own life as well in 2014."

Last year at the inaugural event they raised nearly $4000 and hope to see that grow this year.

They are bringing some of their friends to entertain you during the evening, David Boyd James who's had over 7,000,000 streams and a Top 40 hit on Canadian Country Radio. Mayor Peter Brown will be there to guide you through the program as the MC.

Tickets are $20 and available here. If you can't make the event but still want to donate you can do that HERE.

Flaysher talks more about the event, themselves, the Aidrie community and more in Claire's interview below.
