The Bolo program, which stands for “be on the lookout" and has been featuring Canada’s most wanted fugitives through a top 25 list since 2021, has among its ranks, two Calgary men wanted on murder charges.

According to the Calgary Police Service, they partnered with the Bolo program in 2021 in order to help find 24-year-old Kier Bryan Granado who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the 2015 first-degree murder of 26-year-old Hussein Merhi.

"On Tuesday, October 18, the Bolo Program announced that Granado has moved to the second spot in their list of Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted and has added a second Calgary suspect, Talal Amer to their list in the sixth spot."

29-year-old Amer is wanted on seven Canada-wide warrants in relation to a May incident in Calgary. Initially, responded to reports of erratic driving. It turned out that Amer was involved in a shooting with an uninvolved vehicle that led to the death of a 40-year-old innocent bystander Angela McKenzie.

The Bolo program is offering up to $100,000 as a reward for any information leading up to the arrest of Granado, while there is a reward of up to $50,000 for any information leading up to the arrest of Amer.

"Investigators are looking for any and all information in relation to the homicide investigations and the whereabouts of Amer and Granado. Oftentimes individuals will assume that investigators already have certain information or that their information doesn’t matter. Regardless of how significant, or insignificant, the information may seem, we want to know about it," CPS stated.

According to the Bolo Program's website, the program is a breakthrough initiative leveraging social media, technology, and innovative engagement to encourage citizens to be on the lookout for Canada’s most wanted.

"We’re not the police. We’re not Crime Stoppers. We’re the Bolo Program! The Bolo Program amplifies priority wanted notices for which police services have already requested the public’s assistance. We don’t collect tips; that’s not our job. Instead, we encourage you to submit your tips to the police or Crime Stoppers."

Since the program's launch in 2018, they have actively cooperated with 18 police agencies, including the Calgary Police Service (CPS), the Calgary Crime Stoppers Association, as well the Edmonton Police Service.

12 individuals from the Bolo's most wanted list have been arrested thus far.

Anyone with information about either Amer or Granado is asked to contact the police by calling 403-266-1234. Those wishing to remain anonymous are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers through or by calling them at: 1-800-222-8477
