The Airdrie Thunder fell just short of a win last night (October 15) on the road against the Okotoks Bisons.

The Thunder came out strong at the Murray Arena with three goals in the first period. Clay Murray opened up the scoring for the Thunder with a goal at the 6:00 mark off of an assist from the rookie Dante Raposo. The Bisons responded 46 seconds later as Kody Briggs got the puck past Thunder goalie Ryan Simpson.

The Thunder took the lead again a few minutes later with Benjamin Orde scoring off of an assist from Jesse Fischer. Murray and Raposo teamed up again for a short handed goal to close out the first period. With Murray's second goal, the Thunder went into the first intermission with a 3-1 lead.

The Bisons battled back in the second with goals from Robbie McLean and Kyle Dunville to tie up the game 3-3.

Following a scoreless last minute, the game went into a short overtime period. The Bisons finished things off 1:30 into overtime as Kyle Harrison, with help from Joshua McCulloch and Taylor McNeill, found the back of the Thunder's net.

Despite the overtime loss, the Thunder remain at that top of their division with 13 points.

The Thunder are back at the Ron Ebbesen Arena on Friday (October 20) against the Three Hills Thrashers.
