In an effort to educate motorists about the new distracted driving law, police across the province and others are partnering with the Alberta Motor Association to promote “No Distraction” thumb bands. Sgt. Dave Hardy of the Cochrane RCMP has more.

It's intended that the bands will remind motorists to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. For more information on the new thumb rings, call Cochrane and Area Victim Services at 403-851-8055. The fine is $172 if you're caught doing anything banned under the distracted driving law.
