Bert Church Chargers at Croxford Cavaliers

On Wednesday (December 6), the Bert Church Chargers heading across town to W.H. Croxford to face the Cavaliers in front of a full gym of spectators.

In the senior game, the Chargers grabbed an early lead and hung on to beat the Cavs 88-50.

Head Coach Mike Sera said his whole team put in a great effort, something they'll need to maintain throughout the season. As the season continues, Sera said the Chargers will need to focus on some aspects of both the offense and the defense in order to find more success.

"We got some good looks off our transition game. Overall though, we need to maintain our intensity at both ends of the floor, for a full 40 minutes."

Earlier in the night, the junior game came down to a single bucket. The Cavaliers were able to hold off the Chargers to win by two points at home, beating Bert Church 48-46.

Despite the loss, Head Coach Nathan Lee was pleased with the effort he saw from his team in the second half, especially from his bench players.

"We really fought hard and were very resilient in our efforts. The score got away on us in the first half but we beat them in the second, it just wasn’t enough. We had a number of great runs, coming back from a 25 point deficit, but Cochrane was hungry."

Caleb lee had a tremendous game with 30 points, five assists and six rebounds while Jaiden Pannu showed up on the defensive end. Tommy Titterington was also a strong presence under the hoop on the offensive end with 13 points.

The seniors kept it a little closer but still finished down eleven points, ending the night with an 88-77 loss to start the season.
