Rocky View School Division will kick off their 2016-2017 High School Football season on Thursday, September 1st.

This year, the Bert Church Chargers and the George McDougall Mustangs will be joined by the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers for their first season of league play.

"Ed Edgar Athletic Park over at Genesis Place will be very busy, as for all our teams, that's their home field," said Jacquie Mirtle, Sports Coordinator with RVS.

The Cavaliars will be in tough, as they will have to play in Division B against the Mustangs, and the reigning Provincial Champions the Cochrane High Cobras.

Game one of the season will be held September 8th, when the Cavaliers take on the Springbank Phoenix.

As for the Bert Church Chargers, they will get things started on September 9th, when they take on the Bow Valley High School Bobcats.

The George McDougall Mustangs will play the Chestermere High School Cowboys the same day.
