An Airdrie Football star is about to embark on the biggest chapter of his young career.

Grade 12 student Jordan Baldwin was recently accepted to Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa to play Football and Track and Field.

After many successful seasons with the Airdrie Raiders and George McDougall Mustangs, Baldwin had interest from several Post-Secondary Schools including the University of Calgary.

Why then, did Baldwin settle on Dordt College?

"It had Football, my favourite sport, and it also had God as being number one. When I can put God and Football together and have it where I can learn more and get a better relationship with God through the sport that I love, that just seemed to be the best possible option."

Growing up in a devout Christian home, Baldwin knows the importance of keeping faith at the centre of all his activities including Football. He says that the support of those around him have helped him in his journey so far.

"Where I am now would not have happened without any of my friends, having the support of everyone close to me, all my best friends, they help build that friendship and relationship...my Mom and Dad are always willing to back me up.

Jordan's Mom, Bonnie Baldwin even accompanied him to visit Dordt College 2 weeks ago, which he says was an amazing experience.

"As soon as we got there everyone was accepting, all the teachers and the professors and the coaches. Everyone was just kind of ready to have a connection and to learn more about the players they hope to have."

Baldwin will be attending Dordt College with the help of Football and Track and Field scholarships and will be ready to hit the field for the Dordt Defenders this Fall.
