The Calgary Roughnecks will face the Toronto Rock in their home opener, January 12, 2013.

The entry draft in the National Lacrosse League on Monday, October 1, saw the Calgary Roughnecks picking up seven new players, all known for their ability to score.

With their first round pick, sixth overall, they chose Joe Resetarits, originally from Hamburg, New York. Resetarits has been playing for the Brampton Excelsiors of the Major Series Lacrosse League (MSL). The Excelsiors captured the Mann Cup in 2011. New head coach, Curt Malawsky, is hoping that Resetarits will become a key player for the Roughnecks.

“We expect big things from him, his athleticism and shot on the run, as well as his ability to catch and release in traffic is going to be huge for us," says Malawsky. "He is going to be a guy who will step in NLL-ready and will be a very good addition.”

The Roughnecks also picked up a key player in Matthew Dinsdale.

The Coquitlam B.C. native has tallied in excess of 200 points over the past two seasons for the Junior A Adanacs while being versatile and effective in other aspects of the game.

Rounding out their draft picks, the Necks picked up Jackson Decker, Chad Cummings, (Resetarits' teammate from Brampton), Kyle Dexter, Curtis Pridham, and Myles Dennett.

The Roughnecks play their first game of the new season on January 12, 2013, at home against the Toronto Rock.
