While the Airdrie RCMP prepare to lock down on dangerous driving habits and behaviours over the long weekend, the detachment was still busy keeping up with regular calls for service this past weekend.

Between 4:00 pm Friday, May 8th and 7:00 am Monday, May 11th, Airdrie RCMP received 82 calls for service.

From impaired driving complaints to multiple thefts, the RCMP detachment heard a variety of calls from residents.

Here is the list of the calls for service over the weekend:

  • 2 Assaults
  • 1 Coroner's Act - Sudden Death
  • 1 Fire Prevention Act
  • 1 Firearms Act
  • 2 Fraud Less than $5,000 Complaints
  • 7 Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Complaints
  • 4 Mischief Complaints
  • 4 Theft under $5,000 Complaints
  • 3 People Reported Missing
  • 2 Possession -Schedule VII: Cannabis Marihuana Complaints
  • 1 Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Complaint
  • 1 Theft under $5,000 Shoplifting Complaint
  • 1 Theft from a Motor Vehicle Complaint
  • 5 Traffic Collisions
  • 2 Uttering Threats Against a Person Complaints

RCMP will surely be just as busy over the long weekend as they bear down and increase enforcement levels.
