Multiple Airdronians will be on display this year at Alberta Country Thunder.

Airdronian Brandon Lorenzo will be rocking the secondary stage, he will be performing Friday, August 16 from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. A local band with some Airdrie roots Nice Horse will get the crowd going as one of the first performers on the main stage Friday.

This is the second time in three years that Lorenzo will be performing at Country Thunder and he is very excited for the experience once again!

"It's a wonderful stage, every time we've played it, it's just been so much fun. It doesn't matter what the weather is like, if it's sunny or if it's rainy. Two years ago, we played it in the rain and people were having an awesome time dancing in the rain."

Lorenzo hopes he can generate the same energy this year and has a memorable performance for those who watch. Along with playing at Country Thunder, Lorenzo will also be playing on the Songwriter Stage at Big Valley Jamboree.

"I get to talk a bit more about my songs and how they came to be so kind of a different vibe, but a great experience."

Recently, Lorenzo has also been nominated for three awards at the 10th Annual Josie Awards in Nashville.

"Last year, we came home with Male Vocalist of the Year in the Modern Country category and, yeah, this year, we have three more nominations."

Here are his three nominations this year:

  • Artist Of The Year- Country
  • Best Performance in a Music Video (Another Round of You)
  • Male Vocalist Of The Year

Lorenzo who is currently finishing off the school year as a teacher is excited to see what else the summer holds.

"We are almost in June and the school year has gone by fast, I'm just trying to make sure I can balance everything."

One of the shows he has this summer is performing at the Airdrie Pro Rodeo.
