Following a production limit policy on January 1, oil production has slowed down. However, in May and June, Alberta will be seeing two oil production increases.

An increase of 25,000 barrels a day will be implemented in May and then again in June.

Oil production cuts were originally implemented when more oil was being produced than was able to be transported out of the province. Soon, storage was filled and the price of oil crashed.

However, when the road conditions started becoming better and the oil storages started being slowly but surely emptied, the government started implementing slight oil production increases.

With the two new increases, the total increase since the original cuts will be 150,000 barrels a day. On June 1, 3.71 million barrels will be able to be produced daily.
