A new senior ladies lacrosse team is getting ready to hit the field in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

The Rocky View Attack are gearing up for their first season. So far, head coach Ken Crossley says the chemistry is great.

"The chemistry is awesome coming out. We've got a couple players that have never touched a stick as well. We do have one mom-daughter combination which is very entertaining and been awesome to see. They're having a great time."

As with any first year team, Crossley knows their will be a learning curve, but the team will play hard coming out of the gate. Crossley's primary goal with this first season is development.

"We do have a lot of new players, but we also have a lot of players that are coming back to the game. We've got a couple of experienced players but the rest have been out of the game for a while."

Besides that, Crossley said another important goal is making sure everyone is having fun.

"This is something that you do in your spare time. No one's really playing for any national team or anything like that, so this is all done in their spare time and they want to have fun. That's an important thing as well."

The Attack have their first practice tonight (April 18). They kick off their season with a home opener at the Plainsmen Arena against the Calgary Cougars on Saturday (April 22) at 3:30pm.
