The Airdrie Thunder experienced one of their most sucessful weekends this season, especially coming off one of the lowest points of the season.

GM Frank McEvoy says it's easy to point out the change in the club, as it's one he made last week.

Carlsen will be at most of the games, as he is still under contract with the Edge School in Springbank, but will balance the two jobs for the rest of the season, with the Thunder's assistant coaches taking the reins in his absence.

The team responded to the new coach, who joined the team in time for their Tuesday night practice, with a Friday night home win against the Ponoka Stampeders, and two wins on the road against the Red Deer Vipers, Saturday, and the Stettler Lightning, Sunday.

This means that Art Krusel will not be returning to the club, something that was a hard decision for McEvoy to make, but due to the ongoing medical situation the former head coach faces, a move had to be made.

The Thunder host the Blackfalds Ford Wranglers Friday night down at the Ron Ebbeson Arena.
