It will be a busy summer for the Nose Creek Valley Museum as they plan on hosting a summer full of Car Boot/Flea Market Sale.

The museum hosts one event each month which helps raise funds to keep the lights on at the museum. The first event is happening tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

A car boot sale is where residents gather together to sell their items to other residents. It's basically a garage sale, but it's all in one space.

"We're going to have three again this summer. They seem to be quite popular with everyone so we thought we'd do some more this year," stated Laurie Harvie Executive Director/Curator of the museum.

Harvey went on to talk about why the museum started hosting these events,

"We started them just to raise a little money for the museum, but also just to let the community know that we're here, we also open the museum so they can come visit. A lot of people also don't have the room for a garage sale at their house so this is a good opportunity for them to sell the items they don't need anymore."

Heading into their third year of doing the events, last year they fundraised around $4800 in total.

Again this year at the events, Airdrie Festival of Lights will be on site with a barbeque fundraiser with the proceeds being split between themselves and the museum.

If you are unable to make this one, the next Car Boot/Flea Market Sale will be announced sometime after Saturday's event.
