Residents were temporarily evacuated from a four-storey commercial/ residential complex this afternoon, in the city's southwest after a vehicle collision with the building. No injuries were reported.

According to city officials, fire crews responded to 400 Mackenzie Way Southwest at approximately 2:25 p.m. after a pickup truck inadvertently left the parking area before colliding with the building.

"The impact of the collision damaged the exterior siding and broke a large window. Six residents temporarily evacuated until the attending Structural Engineer deemed the building safe and secure," officials said.

Two hours later, the area was deemed safe and residents were permitted to return to their homes. The fire department utilized three pieces of apparatus, with nine firefighters attending.
