A member of the Airdrie Thunder has been rewarded for an outstanding October.

Forward Clay Murray was named First Star of the month after scoring 16 goals and nine assists for 25 points in October.

Murray had eight multi-point games including five games where he scored three or more points, while helping the Thunder to the best record so far in the Heritage Junior Hockey League.

Murray is the third player from the Thunder to receive a league honour this season after Dante Raposo and Jacob MacDonald claimed player of the week awards earlier in the year.

Red Deer Vipers defenceman Dalton Angeltvedt was named second star of the month while Okotoks Bisons goalie Devin Reagan claimed third star.
