The rodeo began on Friday and will finish this evening at 10 p.m. (Photo by Anna Ferensowicz) The rodeo saw both professional events, which included bareback, bull riding, ladies barrel racing, saddle bronc, steer riding and wrestling, as well as team roping, and tie-down roping. Over the several days, the events featured plenty of local cowboy talent including participants from Crossfield, Didsbury, Rocky View County, Cochrane, Carstairs, Calgary, Okotoks, Strathmore, and Sundre.

Entertainment on Saturday included Airdrie's very own country music artist Brandon Lorenzo, while Sunday evening saw the Western Acoustic Showcase featuring. Brett Cobb, Zack Cormier and friends, as well as a D.J. performance.

Earlier today, tens of thousands of residents came out to line the streets of the city to see the beloved annual Canada Day parade, hosted by Airdrie Parades.
However, the day's celebration began hours earlier at City Hall, where the Kin Club of Airdrie hosted a free Canada Day breakfast. The breakfast also featured a 50/50 raffle; donations were welcomed as it is a fundraiser for community non-profits.
The festivities continued with Airdrie's inaugural Multicultural festival that was held at Nose Creek Park today - Airdrie CultureFest
The day will finish off with fireworks from 10:45 p.m. to 11:05 p.m. at the Chinook Winds Regional Park. The City hosts the fireworks, a 20-minute brilliant and dazzling artistic light performance to enjoy.
