A small funnel cloud never touched down yesterday (July 1) after it made an appearance in the sky between Airdrie and Crossfield.

A weather warning was in place for a large section of southern Alberta at the time.   Several social media users posted pictures of the funnel cloud which was spotted east of the QEII between Airdrie and Crossfield.

The forecast today calls for a clearing sky and a high of 19.  There is a frost warning in place tonight, even though Environment Canada is calling for a low of just four degrees.  It should remain sunny for the weekend but not blisteringly hot with highs of 22 for Saturday and just 19 on Sunday.
