The Calgary Flames rookies were put through the paces Friday for a day filled with fitness testing. Saturday they were on a plane heading to Pentiction, BC for the Young Stars tournament against rookies from the San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and Winnipeg Jets.

Game one was against the Sharks first year players last night, with the Flames dropping a 6-1 decision.

Roman Horak, who came over from the New York Rangers in the Tim Erixon deal, scored the only Calgary goal on a Penality Shot.
