The Calgary Flames scored once in all three periods last night (February 11) and went on to a 3 - 1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in their first of three meetings at Rogers Arena and the first of four games in a row between the two teams.

For Calgary, it was their third straight win while the Canucks dismal season continued with their sixth straight loss.

Defenceman Mark Giordano led the way for the Flames with a goal and an assist.  Andrew Mangiapane and Johnny Gaudreau also lit the lamp for Calgary while Sean Monahan added a pair of assists.

Brock Boeser scored the only goal for Vancouver.

The win improves the Flames' record to 7 - 5 and 1 while Vancouver has struggled to a 6 and 11 mark.

The teams will meet again for round two of their four-game series tomorrow night.
