There will be food, glorious food!

If you recall, in 2021, the Crossfield Farmers Market launched the inaugural February Food Fest.

The whole idea of the food fest was to dedicate an entire market to food and beverages from all over Alberta.

Cheryl Shae, Manager of the Crossfield Farmers Market, says the ‘local angle’ of the market is a term used loosely since the word ‘local’ means something different to everyone.

February Food Fest will host vendors from Airdrie and the surrounding area, Okotoks, and Red Deer among other Alberta locations. Some sporting homemade food and artisan baked goods while others will sell wines, spirits, and craft beers.

Last year, when the first February Food Fest launched, Shae says it went incredibly well despite the COVID restrictions that were in place for it, which are vastly different than the COVID restrictions in place right now.

According to Shae, February Food Fest 2022 will operate at 1/3 of their fire capacity with the majority of the vendors indoors. Some vendors, such as food trucks, will be right outside. COVID protocols for the upcoming Food Fest will follow all AHS guidelines.

Here’s the rundown:

  • When: February 26, 2022 from 10am to 4pm
  • Where: Crossfield Community Centre
  • Cost: Free admission, a donation to the food bank is graciously accepted

Shae encourages all vendors interested in registering to be a part of February Food Fest to reach out through the Crossfield Farmers Market website or email crossfieldfarmersmarket@gmail.com and to remain patient if put on a waitlist since cancellations and last-minute openings could occur at any time!
