It's vaccinations versus the variants, as Premier Jason Kenney puts it.

As of 8 am Monday morning, every Albertan over the age of 12 is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, seeing Kenney fulfill his "every Albertan eligible by the end of June" statement that was made earlier this year.

Adding Albertans age 12 to 29 to the list sees over 2 million more Albertans booking appointments, testing the limits of the AHS online booking website as well as phone lines at participating pharmacies. Alberta Health Services said 100,000 appointments had been booked through its system within the first 5 hours of bookings being open.
