It was a successful trip for Airdronian Brandon Lorenzo as he came home with two different awards from Pigeon Forge Tennessee at the North American Country Music Association International Competition (NACMAI).

Lorenzo won Top Male Vocalist Of The Year and Enterainer Of The Year.

"Back in 2020, I was the last winner of Global Country Canada, which was a competition that took place with artists from all across Canada and we won. So we had the pleasure of going down to Pigeon Forge in Tennessee, where we competed at the North American Country Music Association level."

At the competition, he competed against all 50 states with singers from each state.

"This was the first year that it was together and Canada wasn't considered a separate category. To be considered the winner of both of those [awards] against pretty much every state in the US was pretty cool."

Lorenzo went on to explain what it means to him to win these awards.

"To know that my work, as a vocalist, or as an entertainer is being noticed, out of anybody; and everybody that auditioned for this is super cool. To put Canada on the map in a smaller town, such as Pigeon Forge, or just Tennessee as a whole, it just shows that Canada has some pretty cool things happening and it's cool to represent us."

Up next in the Airdrie teacher's singing career is the Country Music Alberta awards this weekend where he was nominated for four awards:

  • Horizon Male Artist of the Year
  • Horizon Single of the Year for "You Set The Bar"
  • Songwriter of the Year for "You Set The Bar"
  • Music Video of the Year for "Another Round Of You"

In April, Lorenzo has a couple of shows down at the famous Calgary bar, Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dancehall on April 14 and 15.
