The scene has been cleared.

Earlier on Sunday mid-morning, there were reports of a motor vehicle collision heading southbound on Deerfoot Trail at Stoney Trail Northeast near Country Hills Boulevard.

A vehicle was blocking the left-hand lane, hence motorists had to deal with delays and traffic congestion.

With the snowfall continuing throughout Sunday and into the evening, roads and highways may be partially covered with snow.

Motorists heading Southbound on the QEII towards Calgary may experience reduced visibility due to the blowing snow and icy patches. While those who are travelling north of Airdrie can expect similar conditions. There are reports that the junction of QEII towards Beiseker is covered in snow and icy with both drifting and blowing snow, making for poor visibility.

Forecasts for Airdrie are predicting that the snow will be ending late Monday morning.
