Airdrie RCMP has confirmed that they were called to report a 12-year-old on a bike, who was involved in a collision just before 9 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, the child, was inside the crosswalk when a vehicle, described as a red truck, hit the pedestrian in the vicinity of Main Street and Stonegate Drive before taking off. No injuries were reported.

Police said that at this time there were no witnesses to the incident and a license plate of the vehicle was not obtained.
