Airdrie's Senior AA Baseball Team was hoping for a positive result on their road trip to Lacombe.

Despite a few strong innings, it was the Dodgers bats that lit up for a 14-4 victory on their home field.

Brewers President and Coach Dan Carefoot says that his team let too many chances slip away.

"We just couldn't get our bats going and we came up against a pretty solid hitting team...I'd say we had the one bad inning, gave up five unearned runs and we just couldn't dig ourselves out of that hole."

With the win, the Lacombe Dodgers took possession of first place in the Parkland Baseball League, with the Brewers dropping to fourth.

Although the loss stings, Carefoot says the Brewers still carry plenty of potential.

"We're growing. We learn from these experiences and move on...I think we are every bit as good as some of the teams that have been beating us."

Next up for the Brewers is a match up against the Red Deer Razorbacks, who previously beat Lacombe 2-1 back on June 3rd.

Airdrie and Red Deer will square off on June 17th at Great Chief Park in Red Deer.
